A Note From Christina Aguilera


Dear Fans,

I would like to take a moment to clarify something that has been brought to my attention this morning. It is very easy for comments to be taken out of context and create unnecessary drama-especially between us women. So I would like to tell you all directly so my words can not be misconstrued to sell someone else’s story…I have absolutely nothing against Lady Gaga or any other female artist in this business. I think she is great, and I appreciate any woman fearless enough to go against the norm. She has earned her success with hard work and a clear focus and I have nothing but respect for that.

There is room for all of us on everyone’s iPods.

This is not the first time I have been unfairly pitted against another female artist but it will be the last time I comment on the matter.

An open letter to Christina Aguilera

 So the last thing I remember about you was:

1. your shiteous greatest hits album single, "Keeps Gettin Better"
2. your channeling of Lady GaGa and then when confronted with the issue of totally ripping off her style, all you had to say was:

“You know, that’s funny that you mention that. This person [Lady GaGa] was just brought to my attention not too long ago. I’m not quite sure who this person is, to be honest. I don’t know if it is a man or a woman. I just wasn’t sure. I really don’t spend any time on the Internet, so I guess I live a little under a rock in that respect.”

I'm pretty sure you know her now and know she doesn't have a dick [from the Telephone video] and probably realize now that was a really fucked up and bitchy thing to say. I think that was a dumb shit move to make especially when your album and single wasn't doing all too well at the same time making it the last thing I remember about you.

Bad move. Now all I have ingrained in my mind is the last thing you said and how shiteous you were doing. I think you're a talented singer but...you have a lot of impressing to do in order to get that last thing out of my head and I'm pretty sure the heads of other people. I hope this album:

...is gonna be fucking mind blowing and I hope now that Lady GaGa is what she is, you acknowledge that [that will be the day...].

Adding to the list of designers that I am fascinated with is Zaldy Goco. 

If you saw "This is It" (the Michael Jackson movie) you'll remember an Asian gay (who happens to be Filipino) brunette who was outfitting and describing the costumes for the tour. I was mesmerized by those amazing costumes when I first saw them. He teamed up with a lighting company for MJ's tuxedo "lumalite" pants to create the ones seen above. He would've been the first to use the technology for a garment like that.

I just loved the silhouettes he used for the costumes and I really thought that those costumes were wearable and saleable. I especially loved the emphasis on the shoulders. I thought they were well put together and not so overly dramatic (in my taste). For MJ's last tour, I think Zaldy really hit it over the head.



Aside from working with MJ, Zaldy (who has worked in the industry for more than 10+ years and even had his own Ready to Wear line Spring 2002 - Fall 2006) has worked with Gwen Stefani in L.A.M.B's early stages to create the line and helped with the creative direction for it. "From Rufus Wainwright to RuPaul, Mary J. Blige to Jennifer Lopez, and Mick Jagger to the Scissor Sisters, Zaldy’s fashion-meets-music resume is impressive and diverse indeed," says Business of Fashion, which recently sat down with the photogenic designer for a two-part interview (here and here).

Most recently, I was able to see some of the work in person that he designed for one of my favorite artists, Lady GaGa! Reading further into who Zaldy is, I found that he is also a part of the Haus of GaGa.

Mr. Lady GaGa: Nicola Formichetti

I first learned about Nicola Formichetti from the winter edition of the H&M Magazine (you know, the one you get in the store for free). The interview article with Lady GaGa by Anja Cronberg reveals to us that Nicola Formichetti and Lady Starlight (a DJ who hwas been with GaGa since her very first shows) who are her biggest fashion stylest. With them she has formed her own creative collective under the name Haus of GaGa including them as her stylists.

His background is interesting. He's half Japanese and half Italian, growing up between the two countries. He sat down with New York Times recently ansaid that he doesn't really like working with celebs which I found to be really interesting being that GaGa is like the biggest celeb today. He describes meeting GaGa as "instant love". His attraction to her was unique and describes their relationship as natural which is opposite of what he feels when celebs approach him.

Aside from adding on "stylist to Lady GaGa" to his resume he also has been Fashion director of VOGUE HOMMES JAPAN, Senior fashion editor of ANOTHER MAN, Contributing fashion editor of V,  V MAN, ANOTHER , the creative director of DAZED & CONFUSED

Lady GaGa + Jay-Z = Illuminati?

So all last week I was at Basic training for MAC and I got into some conversation with a fellow artist about Lady GaGa and he told me that he read something about her being a part of the Illuminati.

For those who like me, need to be reminded of what the Illuminati is (even after reading those darn Dan Brown books), wikipedia says:

Illuminati (plural of Latin illuminatus, "enlightened") is a name that refers to several groups, both historical and modern, and both real and fictitious. Historically, it refers specifically to the Bavarian Illuminati, an Enlightenment-era secret society founded on May 1, 1776. In modern times it is also used to refer to a purported conspiratorial organization which acts as a shadowy "power behind the throne", allegedly controlling world affairs through present day governments and corporations, usually as a modern incarnation or continuation of the Bavarian Illuminati. In this context, Illuminati is often used in reference to a New World Order (NWO). Many conspiracy theorists believe the Illuminati are the masterminds behind events that will lead to the establishment of such a New World Order.

My fellow MAC artist went on to say that the Illuminati (as I was reminded because of reading Angels & Demons by Dan Brown) is all about giving the Devil another chance or something like that and these people a part of the Illuminati are all a part of worshipping the Devil. I really am not sure about what all this means but I came across an actual blog that points out the symbolism in GaGa's work and it's a pretty interesting read.

This person goes on to blog about Jay-Z as well as other celebs being a part of the Illuminati also. Something about him mocking Jesus in one of the scenes in the "On to the Next One" video. To read further, lookie here.

 

Lady GaGa to appear on Oprah?

Twitter, the instantaneous news feed has once again revealed to me that Lady GaGa will be appearing on Oprah on Friday. I first read fellow blogger BryanBoy's tweet about GaGa being on Oprah. Researching I came across Executive Producer of the Oprah Show's twitter (Sherri Salata)

She'll [GaGa] have plenty to talk about especially because according to her dad (from following her on twitter), she has a "real" job now.
